About Alfalfa

Alfalfa is the hay with the highest nutritional value available. RFV (Relative Feed Value) can be as high as 230% and crude protein as high as 25%. These qualities make Alfalfa one of the highest value feeds for growing or lactating animals. Dairy farms, horse breeding farms, livestock feedlots and various other animal feeding applications where a high protein hay is required use Alfalfa.
Grown and harvested as hay on almost every continent of the world the history of Alfalfa dates back to ancient times. It is said to have been originally cultivated around 500BC by a people known as the Medes in what is now known as Iran.
Today the US is the largest producer of Alfalfa in the world.
